HungerHeroes 2026: Fighting Veteran Hunger One Meal at a Time
Make a Difference Day is October 24, 2026. This year, Think Energy Advisors have an extraordinary opportunity to make that difference tangible. On October 24, Outreach/Feed6 will bring together approximately 500 volunteers in collaboration with the Chicago Wolves for our annual Hunger Heroes event. Together, volunteers will package 100,000 nutritious meals for food-insecure veterans and their families throughout the Chicago area. It is a powerful way to honor those who served our country, not simply with words of gratitude, but with hands-on service that helps put food on their tables. Think Energy helped make that possible last year. Through the Think Local program, Energy Advisors rallied behind Hunger Heroes and generated a $2,500 award. At just 40 cents per meal, that investment provided 6,250 meals. This year, we invite Think Energy Advisors to come together again on a day devoted to the extraordinary difference ordinary people can make through collective action. Outreach/Feed6 has demonstrated that power throughout Chicagoland. Over 15 years, we have engaged more than 100,000 volunteers through 165 meal-packaging events, producing more than 9.5 million meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Think Energy provides the energy that powers homes and communities. On Make a Difference Day, Think Energy Advisors can help provide another kind of essential energy: the nourishment that sustains lives. Another $2,500 Think Local award will provide 6,250 meals toward our 100,000-meal goal. This October 24, let’s transform energy into action, gratitude into service, and compassion into 100,000 meals for those who have served us.

Why Mark Milstein Chose to Support Outreach Inc:Â
For more than a dozen years, I have been a passionate advocate for nutrition and for alleviating food insecurity throughout the Chicago region. As a senior volunteer and longtime champion of Outreach/Feed6, I have participated in and supported more than 100 meal-packaging events that have collectively produced nearly 5 million meals for neighbors in need. I have seen firsthand what happens when people come together around a simple idea: each of us has the power to make a difference. That belief is why Hunger Heroes is particularly meaningful to me. Feeding America reports that 1 in 9 working-age veterans experiences food insecurity. These are men and women who served our country, yet too many struggle to consistently put nutritious food on their own tables. This October 24, on Make a Difference Day, Hunger Heroes will bring together approximately 500 volunteers, in collaboration with the Chicago Wolves, to package 100,000 meals for food-insecure veterans and their families. Last year, I championed Hunger Heroes through Think Local, and my fellow Think Energy Advisors responded magnificently. Together, we reached our $2,500 goal within approximately 60 days. At just 40 cents per meal, those contributions provided 6,250 meals for people who needed them. I am asking my fellow Energy Advisors to join me once again. I know from more than a decade of experience that seemingly modest individual contributions become something extraordinary when we combine them. On Make a Difference Day, we have an opportunity to demonstrate exactly what that means: to honor those who served us by serving them.
