“Mission for Marcus” Virtual Golf Tournament to Stomp Out Stigma and Further Opioid Awareness

The Delmar NY Rotary Foundation’s Mission for Marcus Indoor Golf Tournament will bring the community together this late fall/early winter for a unique fundraiser with a powerful purpose. Proceeds from the event will support middle and high school programs throughout Albany County that raise awareness about the opioid crisis, reduce the stigma around Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and provide vital education on mental health. Mission for Marcus has been recognized by Albany County for its impact in schools—offering awareness days, classroom speakers, and access to subject matter experts who help students and families find the resources they need. Think Local funding will provide the seed money to secure the virtual golf course rights and equipment rental, and to help promote the event to supporters of the sold-out spring tournament.
