Remi’s Purpose – Helping Families Say Goodbye with Dignity

11 Campaigns | 0 Loved campaigns

After losing her 16-week-old daughter Remi, Ashley Cowan founded Remi’s Purpose to support families facing the unthinkable—navigating funeral costs they never planned for. In the Lycoming County, PA area, funds are made available upon request to help cover urgent needs like caskets, memorials, interments, and cremation services. Local funeral directors—and even the county coroner—often turn to Remi’s Purpose when no one else can step in.

This Think Local campaign helps continue that mission—offering compassion and dignity in life’s most difficult moments.

Story

Why Christine Moyer Decided to Sponsor Catherine Redden and Remi’s Purpose

After hearing Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling make a public appeal for help with funeral expenses for families facing unexpected loss, I reached out to learn more—and discovered that Remi’s Purpose is the only local resource stepping in. I then met with founder Ashley Cowan and her mother, Mindy Karschner, to hear firsthand about the impact they’re making. I’m honored to support Catherine Redden’s Think Local campaign and grateful for the opportunity to bring attention to this meaningful mission.
